The Life of Action Figures: Luna Lovegood

"Oh, look. Nargles."

Yes, I got a Luna. She's adorable. I mean look

Pure adorableness

"Hello," Sarah Jane smiled at her, motherly instincts pushed to the front of her mind. She's been worried about Luke the last few days, poor lady. "Are you lost, little one?" Luna is pretty small compared to the rest, only 3 3/4 inches.

"I'm following the Nargles," Luna told her, "they're swimming round your head." ... Okay then. Sarah Jane frowned slightly, not quite sure what to make of her. Not many people are sure what to make of Luna to be honest.

"And who is this little cutie?" John's voice joins the group.

"Off limits, John," I call over. He shoots me a withering glare.

"... You look like a vampire," Luna tells him. There's a pause, and John grins.

"I like her."

The Life of Action Figures: Captain John Hart

So, today I was went to the cinema to see HBP. I was reasonably impressed with the movie - though I still think the whole Ginny's suddenly in your face thing leave's a lot of be desired. But yeah, enjoyed the movie and decided to wander over to Forbidden Planet to see if they had any of the action figures in stock.

They didn't

They did, however, had the second wave of Torchwood figures, No Ianto - they'd sold out - but they did have a Captain John Hart.

"Got anything to drink around here?" he asked, getting out of his box and doing the usual flexes. He really is well made, and the likeness is pretty good, Comes with two little pistols, and a katana. "Well?"

"She doesn't need to answer you," Jack tells him, looking down from his spot on the shelf, "I thought you were going to get HBP figures next?" he accues me.

"The shop didn't have any in. You know I've been saving for a bit to get the HBP ones," I tell him,  off his odd look. Yeah, its true I'm a little cash strapped lately, but when I've got my eye on something, I tend to sit and save up pennies to get them. Only reason I was able to pick up John today was because I got some of the money I was owed off of Brother Boy. "I'm going out again tomorrow, so I'll have a look when I'm out. I think I know which shop to look in anyway."

"... Did you have to get him?" Oh Jack, he's not been right since... yeah ...

John frowns up at him. "What is it? What's happened?" He's immediately concerned. "Tell me."

Jack just stares down at him, and then turns away, back to the corner of the book shelf. I am so very glad I removed all the hardbacks from that shelf. And made sure there's a soft landing. (I like sitting in front of them to read.) John turns to look at him.

"What's wrong with him?"

... Rusty, you have a lot to answer for, y'know that?

The Life of Action Figures: Jelly Babies

Ugh

I shall make it known now, I absolutely hate the summer.

Well, that's a little harsh. To be clearer: I hate hayfever which I always get in the summer. Seriously; I've spent the last few days confined to my room sneezing. Which means my little action figures have to put up with me a little more than they're used to. Well, get used to it people. The job search is going badly ¬_¬

"We could try to make a weather machine... no wait, that would be bad for the delicate eco-system. Hm," Four does try to offer condolences, bless him. I'll just stick to the orange juice thanks. "If your sure. Do have a jelly baby though." There was a pause. "...Who's taken my jelly babies?"

We heard a snigger coming from the other bookcase. The Master was sitting looking very smug with himself. Well, of course. Stealing a bag of jelly babies is right up there in evil deeds with decimating the world population. You're slipping Master man. "Slipping ... I think..." And no that does not mean I want you to break out into Dr. Horrible songs. "Spoilsport." ... Shut up Master. You murder those poor songs. "I know," and oh, the glee in his voice. At times it's like he's a particularly violent hyperactive child.

He's still not getting to talk to Sylar though. Those two would take over the world, and I am not cleaning up their messes

The Life of Action Figures: Discussions

"...So, stalking is a bad thing?" I hear Sylar asking slowly.

"Generally considered to be, yeah," Donna replied as though she were talking to a five year old.

"What about kill their parents?" ... Donna threw me a horrified look. YeahIt's been that sort of a weekend here. Donna, on noticing Sylar stalking Claire - who is still refusing to give up the hat btw - decided that he needed lessons on how to approach people. We had quickly axed Jack's suggestion of just letting the pair get drunk - it was not the best idea in the universe, no matter what he claims.

"Oh, it so was," he grins. Shut up Jack. "You know you love me really." I am so going to let Gizzers stab you. "Tall, dark, and broody? I'd be glad to be stabbed by him." ... Why do I even let Captain of the Inneundo Squad talk? Seriously.

"I could have his tongue taken out if you wish it," Gizzers (Guy of Gisbourne: long story short; he, Robin, and Marian were on sale in the small Factory Shop [yes, thats what its called] near the doctor's when I was down during the week. It was too good a price to resist) asked me.

Yeah, thanks, but no thanks Gizzers. I'm pretty sure he'd just grow another one. "The offer is there, my Lady." Y'know, I gotta admit, him with his manners, it's nice. Sort of.

"Surely you cannot stand for his cruelty?" Oh shut up Bobbin. "It's Robin." I'l call you what I want to call you and you'll shut up and like it. "You may stand for his cruelty but I, for one, will not."

"Robin, dear?"

"Yes, Marian my love?"

"Shut up."

"Yes, Marian my love."

Mazza, I do believe I love you.

The Life of Action Figures: The Newcomers

So, last time I mentioned that there was going to be new arrivals. They showed up today.

Boy, did I not think that through properly.

So, my new arrivals were a Claire Bennet, and a Sylar. Can you see the problem I might have had? Well, to be honest, Sylar arrived a day before Claire did, so he was able to interact with a couple of the others. Namely Donna, who has become quite fond of Heroes.

That ended with a slap. Poor Sylar. You don't mess with the best temp in Chiswick and get away with it.

So when Claire showed up today, Sylar was in isolation, the Doctors having decided that him and the Master having a little pow-wow? Yeah it didn't seem like the greatest idea in the world to me either. Needless to say, him being in isolation meant that he and Claire didn't see each other straight away, something I was grateful for. For about two seconds.

"Hey, any chance of getting a hat? It's pouring with rain out here," she'd asked me. Ah. Problem is the only hat that would fit her, was with Sylar. And letting him know Claire was here before she was settled in wasn't exactly high on my list of priorities. So I said I'd check, and went to find Spock.

I promised I wouldn't recall those events but all I'm going to say is this: Vulcan Neck Pinches FTW. Claire's become very fond of the hat, Sylar isn't going to be getting it back.

I re-introduce them a few mintues ago.

"Sylar, Claire. Claire, Sylar."

I was expecting some huge fight, to be perfectly honest. But instead, they just stared at each other. Not even a twitch. Then Claire moved, rushing like she was going to hit him and then ... she hugged him. Then slapped him. And then he tried to kiss her, which earned him another slap.

Oy vey.

"You're wearing my hat," he said, sounding amused. Claire glared.

"So?"

"Nothing," he still looked smug as Claire walked away in a bit of a huff. Understandable really, he is the guy who .. well, better not spoil volumes 3 and 4 for those who haven't seen them.

"What are you so smug about?" I asked.

"I'm growing on her."

Oh ... hell.

I am keeping him away from the Master if it's the last thing I do

Considering something

I've recently become aware of the Secret Life of Dolls by [info]cleolinda  and its inspired me. See, I have a smallish action figure collection myself, mostly Who characters, though I also have Star Trek and NBC figures. I'd like to do something simila, but wonder if it would be too jumping on the bandwagon of me, or if anyone would even be interested.

So, erm, yeah. Thoughts?

Late Night Musing Leads to the Oddest of Crossover Ideas

Seriously, late at night my mind wanders and gives me many ideas for fics that I would like to write just to see if it’s possible to pull it off. The most current idea I hear you ask me? Well, the most current idea is a We Will Rock You/General Disney crossover.

Yeah, I’m honestly not sure where it came from either. At least the Rock You/Star Trek idea had some grounding in reality, and I did have a better idea on how to get that one to work for me.

I expect this is just my mind going through the “throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks” method of idea giving ideas. It’s not unpleasant, just rather confusing if I’m honest with you all. Ah well. Hoping to go round to the locals Borders tomorrow, so I shall probably have a good long look at the graphic novels.

Oh yes, which brings me to a question: my vlog channel - I’d quite like to do more reviews. Any reviews in particular people would like to see?

So an update

On the whole exam thing.
Handed in my line, and got the lowdown off my lecturer. I explained that it only really started a couple of hours before the exam, and that I tried to get in, and they explained that it was fine, they'd just need to check the SQA regulations on it all
I'll most likely be doing different questions to the rest of my class; and weirdly I'm okay with that. They can tell me what subjects to look over (since the course I'm on has philosophy; psychology; sociology; history and politicis making it up) and I'll just make it up on the day. Simple as.
Now, to study for the politics and sociolgy tests I have next week (politics likely power and authority using Hobbes and Machivelli and sociology either on education or social class. ... I'm glad we have monday off)
